כִּידוֹן 9.1 n.m. javelin—כִּידֹן; cstr. כִּידוֹן—javelin or short curved sword (as כִּידָן),* <SUBJ> רנה rattle Jb 39:23 (‖ חֲנִית spear). <NOM CL> כִּידוֹן נְחֹשֶׁת בֵּין כְּתֵפָיו a javelin of bronze was between his shoulder blades 1 S 17:6. <OBJ> חזק hi. take hold of Jr 6:23; 50:42, נוף hi. wield Si 46:2. <CSTR> כִּידוֹן נְחֹשֶׁת javelin of bronze 1 S 17:6; רַעַשׁ כִּידוֹן clatter of the javelin Jb 41:21. <PREP> בְּ of accompaniment, with, in, + בוא come 1 S 17:45; introducing object, + נטה stretch out Jos 8:18, 18, 26. <SYN> חֲנִית spear.
